Project Description
Dornan has played a major role in transforming the centre of Bracknell, a post-war ‘New Town’ 65km west of London, into a vibrant retail and leisure destination. The project involved demolition to create eight new retail blocks, accommodating 70 shops and a 1300-space multi-storey car park.
Extraordinary solutions
- Fully-automated vehicle management system, with two-way communications with each car park barrier and pay station for a 1,300 space multi-storey car park
- Site-wide communications network via a VLAN, so requiring no independent network cabling
- State-of-the-art safety system including sprinklers in all blocks and rooftop automatic opening vents
- Power factor correction for efficient low voltage supply
- Earth monitoring equipment for continuous system testing
- No disruption to already operational on-site offices and shops
